**Understand:**

- that multiplying decimal numbers is similar to multiplying regular numbers
- multiplying numbers greater than 1 increases the original number

**Do:**

- I can multiply decimal numbers

When multiplying decimal numbers, all you have to do is multiply the numbers as per usual. Then you just add in the decimal places from your original numbers.

Remember to always double check for the reasonableness of answers!!!

In the example above, if I rounded 3.77 to 4 and 2.8 to 3. I know that 4 x 3 = 12, so my answer should be somewhere around 12.
