Describe translations, reflections and rotations of two-dimensional shapes. Identify line and rotational symmetries (ACMMG114)
LO: To identify line and rotational symmetries.
Know:
- the definition of symmetry
Understand:
- that objects can be rotated around the point to create symmetry
Do:
- I can identify line and rotational symmetries.
Line Symmetry

A line of symmetry is a line which splits both sides of an object identically.
They can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal.

Rotational Symmetry
Rotational symmetry is when an object looks exactly the same after a rotation.
The number of times the object looks identical to the original picture is termed order.
